The Race for RP is excited that KohR Motorsports will feature the AHN Autoimmunity Institute on the No. 59 Ford Mustang GT4 at Daytona International Speedway during the 2021 BMW Endurance Challenge on Friday, January 29, 2021. The AHN Autoimmunity Institute, located in Pittsburgh, PA, is a break-through facility advancing the diagnosis, treatment, prevention and cure of autoimmune diseases through collaborative multi-specialty care and cutting-edge research.
During this IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season opener, KohR Motorsports team owner, Dean Martin, will race alongside co- drivers, Chuck Cassaro, and Kyle Marcelli, a Race for RP brand ambassador and autoimmune disease awareness advocate. The No. 59, which carries the Race for RP branding, features a bold and unmistakable AHN Autoimmunity Institute logo on both sides of the bright livery, highlighting the coordinated care and ground-breaking research at the AHN Autoimmunity Institute, while driving awareness of relapsing polychondritis (RP). The KohR Motorsports team won the GS Championship title with Kyle Marcelli in 2020, and is expecting a lot of coverage this year at Daytona, which adds to the excitement. Daytona International Speedway, known as the “World Center of Racing,” is considered one of the most recognizable racetracks in motorsports, and the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, which takes place during the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona event, is an extraordinary platform to draw attention to the Autoimmunity Institute.
There are over 100 autoimmune diseases, affecting more than 50 million people in the United States. Some are common, such as rheumatoid arthritis, type 1 diabetes and psoriasis, while others are rare, such as relapsing polychondritis. Race for RP, which drives awareness with the Relapsing Polychondritis Foundation, has gained significant traction and is represented by multiple professional and amateur drivers and teams across some of the top racing series in motorsports.
Thank you, KohR Motorsports, Dean Martin, KyleMarcelli and Chuck Cassaro, for driving the No. 59 Race for RP Ford Mustang GT4 featuring the AHN Autoimmunity Institute in the BMW Endurance Challenge, Friday, January 29 at 1:30pm.
