Jeff Westphal, Race for RP driver, is pulling double duty – again!
Jeff Westphal, a Race for RP driver, will soon return with Tyler McQuarrie, to pilot the No. 39 CarBahn with Peregrine Racing Audi R8 GT4 in the BMW Endurance Challenge in Daytona, the first race of the 2020 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season. Westphal and McQuarrie are the 2019 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge GS champions and they are focused on Daytona in their quest for back-to-back championships.
In the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, Westphal will join Cooper MacNeil, Toni Vilander, and Alessandro Balzan to race the No. 63 WeatherTech Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo. We are extra excited about this driver line up, especially given Alessandro Balzan is making his IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship comeback at the Rolex 24.
We salute Jeff, his co-drivers, and each member of these teams for driving awareness and accelerating research on relapsing polychondritis (RP), a debilitating and in some cases fatal autoimmune diseases which attacks the patient’s cartilage including the ears, nose, airways and joints, as well as the eyes, skin, heart valves and brain.
